It is an especially popular dental prosthesis among our patients. This type of prosthesis is one of the simplest, most economical and effective one, and it allows to restore all the teeth. Thanks to the features of acrylic and the use of it, orthopaedic appliances achieve a very natural result and do not cause any inconvenience to the patient. Another advantage is its price, which is very affordable.

Types of acrylic dentures.
We can classify acrylic dentures according to their type of fixation and the number of teeth they can replace. So, we can find the following ones:
Full acrylic dentures
This type of prosthesis is designed for the total replacement of the teeth along the arch. This type of dentures adheres to the gums, holding it by “suction effect”. A conventional full acrylic denture is made up of a solid acrylic base, similar to a gum and consisting of a complete set of artificial acrylic teeth.
Partial acrylic dentures
We use partial acrylic dentures to replace the dental absences of the patient who still has his own teeth. They are fixed to the abutment teeth using special dental clasps.
Partial acrylic dentures not only restore the functions of the dentoalveolar apparatus, but also allow the repair of occlusal contacts with the remaining teeth of the patient, preventing their migration and exit from the dental alveoli (alveolus).
Placement of acrylic dentures.
The placement of acrylic dentures is done in 4 steps:
- Diagnosis. First of all, the specialist examines the oral cavity of the patient and then makes a dental impression from the jaws and takes a panoramic dental X-ray image.
- Dental computational modelling. In second place, from the obtained data, a dental laboratory technician formulates a 3D computer model of the future prosthesis that will be placed on the patient. This method allows to achieve high precision in the design parameters of the dental prosthesis and its perfect adjustment to the oral tissues of the patient.
- Manufacturing. Generally, such a prosthetic framework is manufactured within 4 to 7 days. Later, the patient is scheduled to adjust and place the framework itself.
- Placement procedure. In the end, the dentist fixes the prostheses in the oral cavity of the patient. If, during the placement procedure, a certain problem with the jaw closing arose, it will be easily fixed on the spot.
Acrylic dentures are placed in the oral cavity on the gums using special dental prothesis fixing cream for fixation. Regarding to the comfort for the patient, initially, this type of prosthesis can cause some discomfort when the patient is speaking or chewing, but over time, the mouth gets used to it. During the adaptation period, acrylic dentures are worn during the day and must be removed during the night.
